Is Spiderman portrayed correctly in the 'Spiderman' Movies ?

When superhero films come to the mind, 'Spiderman' is one of the prominent films that makes us think about. The film was made wonderfully with web-slinging,action scenes,etc. shown with perfection. I'm a big fan of Spiderman myself and always love to watch those Spiderman cartoons as well.

One thing that troubles me about both the movies(spiderman 1 and 2) is the portrayal of the character of Peter parker and spiderman himself. Spiderman is the 'friendly neighbourhood' and is always witty and makes fun or jokes even when he is in the most dangerous situations.In the movie spiderman, Toby Maguire isn't even close to that kind of character portrayal; he is always serious. The physical appearance doesn't match either. Toby is quite short, but Peter parker is quite tall and athletic. If spiderman is portrayed as he is known in comics, the movie can be 100% perfect.
